Masters hockey is growing across the region with opportunities arising with increasing regularity.


For clubs who may not have enough mature players, the EH competitions allow guests from other clubs, providing they do not play for their own or another club in the same age group. Contact your club rep if you would like support.


Women’s Master Hockey Camps

Women’s Masters Hockey Camps coming up to get you ready for the forthcoming season.

These are fundraisers for the England O50’s going to play in the World Cup in New Zealand in November.

Coaching led by EHB Level 4 Coach Clare Hayes. Clare has experience of coaching players of all ages from grass roots to international standard. Available to all hockey players  from the O35’s age groups and above. All experience levels welcome.

For hockey players everyday is a school day! As we mature our thirst for learning and improving continues and we never stop developing.

The cost

£40 per day. Payment is taken on the day (but please do commit once you have reserved a place as we arrange the number of coaches around the number of attendees to ensure you get a fabulous experience).

Numbers will be strictly limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you are GK, please do let us know in advance. To reserve a place email Clare on [email protected].

Masters competitions in the 23/24 season

Entries for the West Masters competitions were initially high, and congratulations to the West Mixed O35s Cup winners, Team Bath Buccaneers.

Over 45s cup final taking place on 28th April with Werey’s v Bretforton.

Following a rigorous series of trials,  Avon players have gained regional representative honours in most age groups. Congratulations to the following players:

Masters Hockey Camp Saturday 25th May 2024

For those of you looking to start on a Masters journey, perhaps a masters hockey camp can tempt you.

This camp is open to any women aged over 35 who are passionate about hockey and would like to come and learn! There are lots of camps like this for the youngsters and now is the chance for the more mature players. You definitely CAN teach an old dog new tricks!

Format of the day: morning of hockey based activities in small and larger group environments. Afternoon will be small sided games.

The coaching will be lead by EHB Level 4 Coach Clare Hayes. She will be ably supported by other coaches. The camp will be held at King’s College in Taunton. The day will run from 10.30-3.30. Players will need to bring a packed lunch.

The cost of the camp is £40 a player, payable on the day in cash. This is a fund raiser for England Masters players travelling abroad for the World Cup.
