We are Avon County Hockey Association

Avon County Hockey Association’s objective is to help promote, develop and encourage all forms of hockey for adults, young people and children in clubs and schools.  We are members of both England Hockey and West Hockey.

Avon County Hockey Association was formed in 2020 following major reconstruction by England Hockey. EH divided the country into eight Areas and Avon comes under the auspices of the West Area.

All clubs who play within the old County of Avon (1974) boundaries are members of the County Association. It was initially a Women’s only county with a very successful junior section which was one of the reasons EH came to form the new Association encompassing all Men’s and Women’s clubs.

The County is run by a committee led by a Chair with a Secretary, Treasurer and others overseeing activities in Adult and Junior Competitions, Masters and Officials.

All hockey clubs within Avon County uphold the policies issued by England Hockey, this includes the safeguarding policy. All England Hockey governance documents are available and can be found using this link: England Hockey Governance Documents.
